A Stage Before a Breakthrough: Helping Neurodivergent Youth Be Seen, Accepted, and Appreciated

In Hong Kong, discussions about Special Educational Needs (SEN), autism, or ADHD are often framed through a medical or deficit-based lens. Differences are seen as problems to be corrected, trained away, or brought closer to what society considers “normal.” Yet in community work, we often see something different. The issue is not that young people are unwilling to participate or lack ability. More often, they have never been given meaningful opportunities to participate in ways that work for them.

Pizza Surprises

“How are you feeling today?”

“What kind of flavour would you like a little more of today?”

You might assume these questions come from a caring friend. In fact, they are part of the “Customer’s Choice: Pizza Blind Box” experience at “A Few Moments Community Cultural Space” in Kam Tin. You may have come simply to eat a pizza, but someone is asking about your feelings and listening to your story. What exactly is behind this unusual idea?

When Talent Meets Opportunity: The Growth Journeys of Two YGN Interns

This artwork was created collaboratively by six of us, including interns and staff members at YGN. The theme was “What can I do to help others?”, and we chose hearts and hands as our central symbols.

We began by drawing a large heart in the center of the canvas, and each person then added a handprint. Together, they represent our shared commitment to supporting and empowering young people. More than anything, the artwork reflects the mission of Youth Global Network (YGN): people coming together, each contributing in their own way, to create opportunities and hope for youth.

Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2027 Charity Programme

We are proud to announce that YGN has been selected for a fourth consecutive year as one of the beneficiary organsations in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2027 Charity Programme!

Our participation in the SCHKM goes beyond the race; it has become our signature fundraising initiative to promote our youth work. We aim to raise HKD2,000,000 to support YGN’s Youth Development Work.
